stereo too heavy

What do you spl'rs do when your car is sagging beacuse of your subbox being to heavy? I know beef it up, but do you guys put in air suspension or ??? I am having a problem with my car sagging and a HUGE lack of gas mileage because of this!! lol, just an honest question that I would like an honest answer to!!

p.s.= this is more towards spl car guys, I know I can easily go and get another SUV or just put in half a system, but I want to know what the guys with a big system in a car do!!

^^^ X2

My box is really giving my suspention a tough time. Can I get stiffer springs or suspension, and how much would this be costing me approximately?

Do it the ghetto USSR style like my comrades do with Lada's back in my motherland, when they have to haul a dozen bags of patatoes to the local market in that poor car. I think they put rubbers in between the spring coils. Too bad I can't find a pic with the car's *** way up lol.

I'm just joking.
How much weight do you estimate you have there?

I only had a modest single re xxx, box couple of amps and my suspension did not like it. But I can't complain given it's 11 years old lol.

I have close to 200lbs extra, maybe a lil more,
sub box 1.5" front face and bracing, 2 subs, amps, wiring, and a yellow top in the trunk..I dunno?

I'm not a big SPL'er myself, but I have tried to minimize the added weight of my system altogether since it has an effect on the overall performance of the vehicle.

A few things I have considered are composite enclosures, using compound curvatures to maximize stiffness while minimizing weight. There isn't much you can do about the weight of the system components, but suppose you make a fake floor, try to devise a way to minimize the number of pieces/fasteners, etc. to keep the weight low.

If there is nothing you can do about the exisiting weight, you could run stiffer springs, but the ride quality would degrade.
