I understand a lot of these....but wtf's up with the juggs's and the HCCA's on most of the lists? When you're talking about SERIOUS spl subs IMO they should have rms' OVER 1500wrms.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the FUNKIN AUDIO MF's, Beyond Audio Inhumans(if they still make them), Ground Zero Plutoniums...damn there's too much to mention

Those Funkin MFs are pretty impressive subs... surprised you don't see more of them in SPL competition.

I like DD 9500s for SPL in my experience so far. Very good overall in the lanes, IMHO. Sounds like a hurricane going through a key hole playing music, though... all those holes in the motor and all.

If you were including the loudest subs in their hayday, I suppose the Jugg could be considered. At the same time I guess you could put the CV Stroker on the "used to be a top 10 SPL sub" list as well, even though neither sub is all that competitive with what's out there now IMO. But they were at or near the top back in the day.
As for the HCCA, all I've seen so far is a ton of hype.

But it's hard to make a list with so many good subs out there.

Did everyone forget about the most hated subwoofer company???

The Shocker Signature series woofers are easily one of the top 5 loudest woofers out there.

lol and you're calling sundownz an idiot. Whatever buddy. 'Hinofics' ftw lol
I can understand you saying the collosus sub shouldn't be on the list because well, it's pretty much BRAND F'N NEW!!!! Nobody has had any decent testing with it so far so none of these guys can put it on the list.
But to put down FI and the Kicker?? What you smoking bro?? All I have to say is FI has hit if I'm not mistaken 171 db with a SINGLE BTL 18" on the TL. Kicker's lower spl lines (the CVX and L7) have an uncountable number of setups in the 150's while the SoloX can hit retarded numbers when you have someone that knows how to install them. Again, there's numerous SoloX installs hitting 160's. The only bad thing about the SoloX is that they're more likely to blow but hey, that's why they've got the field re-cones.
