okay pal, if you had even a moderately well functioning brain, you'd know that Father Yuli Knows more about SPL that you can even comprehend. 153 DB is pretty damn awesome for a non-sponsered individual with a daily driver vehicile.
170DB's + are impossible to acheive without 'MASSIVE' funding by a sponser, or for stereo shops with almost unlimited bugets, whats the highest you've acheived gyguy?? humph?

Anyway. All I have to say is Listen to Yuli, he is the man.... dont question it, just do it. He seriously is the man
Thanks Yuli, I'll research what you said and perhaps have more questions later. Also, this American Bass, is that stuff available here in Canada, or just through ebay?

i beg to differ my friend. i dont know what subs u are using or how seriouse u are about spl and how often u break the 170 mark but if a sub doesnt last past a few rounds no one will use it. maybe thats why they dropped the RFL's???? A cerwin vega stroker subs lasted countless rounds in the 170+ enviroments and those subs are what now???? 7 years old? maybe more? and an RFL cant last a few rounds? and it doesnt suck?

all i see being mentioned here is that the sub was supposed be very good at performing two things: producing high spl and blow up pretty quick and be fixable on the spot. since it didnt really produce too many seriouse spl scores (170+) i guess it was only good at blowing up every few rounds..............???
</font>
I would be happy to correct your entire post in a privite chat.

Graham if you would like any more help I would be happy to answer. Just PM me!

graham, if you had a functioning brain you would know that you don't know me and you don't know what i do or don't know. 153 is nothing and 170 isn't hard to do without a sponsor. you people think it's dumb to have a sub you can rebuild between rounds? is john force dumb for being able to rebuild his motor between rounds when he is pushing the limits?

*don't be dumb by posting personal insults on the Internet*

hahahah personal insults, always love those!!!

gyguy we dont know u thats right, how about u tell us about yourself and your great spl accomplishemnts or lets see some stats page or something then.

if RFL was so great why no one used it? why is it not in production any more?

having a woofer that u can rebuild between the rounds is great but having a woofer that doesnt need to be rebuild after every round is even better. am I not right? and due to the fact that there are louder subs that last much longer than the RFL did I would have to conclude that RFL was not a well developed product, thus it was dropped from production.

Like A-Rock said:
The sub isn't loud.
The sub blows up every run.
You have to buy more parts and replace them every round.

Maybe I got confused, but what part of that doesn't spell SUCK?
Sclkyle i see what u saying but i will say that from the SPL'ers point of view RFL was a hit and miss, thus it's no longer in production. it was a good concept but just not enough research and product development.

I would agree that the insults should stop.

Yuli. The RFL will not blow up if it is used properly.

As far as winning comps. The RFL has won many world records over the years. If you would like me to do the research I would be happy.

As for it not being in production. MTX is always working on R&D to improve products. The RFL has been around for a while and its time for a new birth.

As for the RFL, I get scared when people call me at the office wanted to run them. Like I stated the only people that should use an RFL must be extremely qualified and series about SPL.

I will disagree with gyguy that 153 is not a big spl score (depending on the class) but 153 is not an RFL application.

1 RFL and 3 1501's in the back of a VW Golf held the highest spl record for one sub here in Nova Scotia for a while. I think it hit high 150's before the the window blew out of the car.
