Amp and Sub Options
ive been searching around and am considering the following options for my truck
koda 8 with a orion 222sx amp
or a koda 10 with a zapco ag350 or an orion hcca 225 amp
or any combination of....
i just picked up my new 04 ranger regualar cab last month and cant live withouit a decent system, unfortantly the small cab limits me to a box size of around 0.5sf, and my box building skills are limited to wood, no patience to do fiberglass, proably 3/8"mdf with some 2x2 internal bracing is what ive always used in teh past, alot lighter than 3/4mdf and gives you that much extra volume when working with a small space
im going for qualty, i use to have a 12" type s with a sony amp that sounded nice, and want to one up it, being loud isnt a concern
it will be running off a panasonic df88 head that i pulled out of my car, was thinking of replacing it, but its a nice head and has all the funtions i need/want...
options? other options? loaded mtx thunderform?
thanks

Having pulled my hair out over a few Ranger regular cabs and having also installed a few of the loaded Ranger Thunderforms I TOTALLY recommend the Thunderform.
It sounds excellent.
3 weeks or so ago I dropped one into a Ranger with a 50x4 amp running two channels to the doors and 3/4 bridged to the woofer and was very impressed with the results.
I am very much a custom box guy but in that truck the Thunderform is, in my opinion, your best choice hands down.

thanks for the replys, i was very temped to buy the 8" and build a box myself, be alot cheaper, and i though it would probably sound better, but by the sound of it i may have to startlooking for a deal on a thunderform, maybe see if i can find one without a sub and put a bit better sub in...
the thunderform with the sub it comes will be decent sq wise?
amp suggestions? im leaning twards buying an older orion, i use to drool over those when i was a kid in high school, now i can actually afford one...

The Thunderform comes with a 4500 series driver now. The 6000 was the old model.
Like Paul said the depth is minimal. Mitek makes a line called Bass Slammer which do not come loaded, but you will still have the same depth issues.
hope that helps.
