Dynaudio is awesome......... but not cheap. BUT AWESOME.
Best SQ woofer on the market bar none, based on performance, cost and how absolutely fantastic it sounds...... is the Image Dynamics IDQ series, which has been around forever. SQ heaven at burgers and fries pricing. Anyone that has used them can back me up on this. I'm still blown away to this day at how completely amazing this driver series sounds for SQ given what you pay.

Dynaudio's whole marketing plan revolves around an extremly high mark up. 3x to be close to exact. (relied on the theory: "if it costs more, it must be better"). You'll see a lot of shops calling the "high markup stragegy" now "dynaudio marketing" due to their ridiculous markup. However, in turn this also means more money for the shops so you'll see a lot of people who sell Dynaudio promote it religiously and spoon feed you on how great it is. (No offence Kankar)
IMO dynaudio is crap for how much you pay for. AVI, IDMAX, and the new Critical Mass U12 are the only viable options for really good SQ. People really ough to stop looking at the price tags and making assumptions on them and start listening to the speakers WITHOUT a biased oppinion or a salesman standing right beside you telling you how great it "sounds."
If you want a true and hoenst oppinion go to a speaker repair shop. They listen and deal with many brands every day and they for the most part don't sell anything or try to sell you anything where they'll make lots of money.

The OP did say cost no object.............
We have to keep in mind that AVI is domestic, whereas Dynaudio is imported and thus will have a cost propotional to what's involved to get it into the country.
I really wish AVI had more exposure

Miluni, no offense taken. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But just out of curiosity, where are you getting this information from about Dyn's "current" car audio marketing strategy??
Also, your statement about the IDMAX being in the company of top SQ woofers, although appreciated, is actually incorrect. I'd actually not agree with any of your choices at all for pure top SQ listening at all. They may be good, but they are definitely not in the top.
Lastly, I think it's really not good advice to tell people to go to a repair shop to try and decide on what the best SQ driver is on the market. 90% of what repair shops deal with is junk. So they get to listen to a lot of junk. I think they'll be able to tell you what NOT to buy.......... from a junk standpoint.
