Best 12" SQ sub
#52
sad but true, go figure. i think that the way usaci used to do it was best, move the decimal point over one spot, 150 becomes 15, 130 becomes 13, a far more level playing field for the sq classes, as well center channels should put you in the dts class and shouldnt be allowed in the 2 channel stereo class

They also win championships on install and other non-sq related items
So is that unfair... no it isn't. As long as there are rules clearly available and they are enforced then that is fair. In this scenario a world champion is not necessarily the best sounding vehicle it is the best vehicle that exemplifies ALL the rules (loud, good sq and good install that includes window stickers).
It isnt a purist SQ format but it is a time proven format.

Oh you'll get no argument from me my friend - I have always supported SPL as an important part of the 'whole package'. Still it's kind of shitty when the lowest SQ car in a class takes home the gold just cuz he's got the poundage.. That's not really the whole package either.

Hey I am a purist, always have been a bit of an idealist. I like the MECA SQ program it is SQ and only SQ on the score sheet. No shows in Canada AGAIN this year so as usual MECA is not an option. If any MECA shows happen in Canada check it out but if not I do not think IASCA or USACi are bad choices either, in fact they have set the SQ standard for some time now.
But that's my input on the best 12" sub (what the heck, why do we obsess over subwoofers in the SQ forum??)
