My car is getting to be barely street legal.

I've got a fairly big pile of stereo stuff sitting in storage waiting for the next big project. It will come, but right now I've got my hands full with go fast goodies. Not to say that I don't like talking about this stuff anymore though.

Funny...the comments about the Audiom 6WM have sparked my interest in playing with the set I've got....in boxes...for a year. I'm sad!

Mikko, I just needed a break. As you know, it's been a really hard year for me personally. I needed to get into some new things...

And reading a few pages back. Dave mentioned a set of Focal 5K013X...the correct # is 5K013L. Great mids...80 to 4+Khz no problem...although there is a little resonance at 2k that needs taming. The first models of these had a problem with the phase plug breaking off under prodding hands. Kimon "What...the Dick fell off?" Good times.

Slow and painful. Costing way too much money, but then again, what doesn't. But should be nice whence it's done. Looking forward to it. By the end of April, the car will be done and off for some paint detail. I haven't even thought about audio for it. But will likely be a different sort of setup. I'm thinking Image Dynamics horns with midbass in the factory kick panel locations......... maybe four 8" across the back deck. Denon-ford 8250 deck, and some sort of processing abilities. Likely the new ARC Audio Signature Series amplifiers....... but who knows. Maybe no audio at all. If the motor pops, I'm going to rebuild the motor to a 2.5 motorsports spec, gut and cage the car and go racing !!!

And on another completely different tangent, what about horns ?!?!?!? Some horns provide awesome midrange

 

Maybe I'll check out the frequency response graphs on the drivers Solen carries to see if there is anything there...

I have the Scan 4" units. They're awsome!
