what do u think of this soundstream SS10?

im offering him $80 for the raw driver, hope hes ok with it
i plan to pair it with alpine MRP-M200

just not sure if my sealed by of 0.8 ft^3 of internal volume is big enuf for this SS10 though

anyone know?

should be good, as most 10's use between 0.7-1.2 cu.ft. If it's a little small you can always add a pound of polyfill to increase it's virtual size about 25%.

polyfill actually virtually increase the internal volume??

why is that?
is it because sound gets trapped inside the polyfill for a little longer?

how do i apply polyfill, do i grab a bunch and just staple it on the inside wall or glue it on?

i think my sub box only has 0.8 cuft of internal volume

SS10 is a nice driver. Give it at least 1 cu. ft. though. It's an older skool driver and they typically like a little more room.

Polyfill disapates energy from the driver more efficiently than air. Air is actually a poor medium of energy transfer. The more air you have, the more energy is disapated. The smaller volume of polyfil disapates energy the same as a larger volume of air.
