Does it Make a Difference?
Ribbon and planar drivers can be awesome. They are usually a PITA to install though so most companies and enthusiasts tend to avoid them. Hertz has/had a ribbon midrange in their three way component set.

While I think the majority of this discussion is redundant there was one post that made me giggle and that was one implying that Monster cable is bad in one way or another.
I use their RCA's
Why? Because I know what to expect. I've never had a a pair "go bad" I've never had a connector let go, Ive never had distortion or hums.
I also don't pay retail. Never paid more than $1 a ft.

Monster Cable is actually pretty good quality.. However it is usually way overpriced. Monster cable started the high end cable market years ago with special speaker wire. They also began the scientific mumbo jumbo marketing hype to differentiate their products and justify very high prices.
