Has anyone ever noticed......

Hehe, the 7902....I've only seen pictures but that looks like a killer deck man. I started listening to some of my old my tapes because I found my old NAD tape player in my basement and I remembered why I listen to cd's.
Back in the day when you "seasoned" car audio guys only had tape decks in your cars, you had some serious techniques for setting up your systems....I remeber hearing about people filling the body panels on your cars with sand to stop rattles. You guys came up with some pretty scary stuff.
And now I hear Zach talking about his old school equipment and I shudder to think what he has planned for that poor little Chevette of his
As for co-axial mounted anything, I can't seem to make them sound as good as a comp set...I've even tried building kicks for co-axails with terrible results even with swivel tweeters.
Oh...here's a question that you may or may not have trouble answering. What happens if you have a car with a center consol that starts as an armrest and goes right along the floor and attaches to the dash...it's kinda like having your own little ****-pit type thing. What would happen to your imaging if you put a comp set in each little ****-pit area? like each person has their own comp set and it's obviously got left and right seperation and stuff but it's like having your own personal set of speakers. Could that work? I know it's probaly wrong but if you look at the Pioneer demo trucks they have a similar set-up.

If you can believe this, there is a hole in the wall 'car audio' shop a block up from my office that STILL has a 7902 in their demo board

As for your dual front-stage idea, it won't work. My Daytona has that style of console you speak of. But if you don't put up a partition divider between the left and right seats you are going to have really messed up seperation issues cuz you will have a left channel set playing at you from the far left side, plus also from the console (if in the passenger seat). Vice versa for the right side. And, the closer that left side is to you, the narrower your seperation is going to be. It would almost be entertaining to see how horrific the results would be

Lol, it was just a thought.
How much can the long center consol affect imaging with a normal kick panel set-up? I suppose it would depend on the size of the consol and stuff but I would imagine it can create some killer headaches eh?

MASS Engineering marketed a set of Electrostatic speakers for the front end in the early 90s. It had 4 panels so you could do a dual stereo setup just like you describe.
Unfortunately it was WICKED expensive and didn't work worth beans.
What you need is to buy the original Batmobile - dual ****pit man

Hey Adam, I noticed you live in PEI. Are you related to any MacDonald's, Fage's or Blakeney's?
Most of my family is from PEI and NovaScotia.
Anyway, a little off topic but, what can I use to image tweeters? Is there any specific track on the IASCA disk I can use?
