George is annoying but George has knowledge eh. The Bass from ~300 to 90 Hz or so to me define the warmth and fullness of the sound (satisfying) the sub-bass area gives a feeling of power and authority. The 'speed', articulation, and definition come from the mid-bass and even the mid-range (Kettle drum skins for instance).

If George had a puppet would his name be Mr Hat (or Mr Stick)?

george needs to stop being so annoying, post his actual location,. and stop hiding behind some fake name if he wants to get taken seriously.

No that is just the Type R sounding terrible, I havent heard one yet that sounded good, they just go nice and loud.

^ The Alpine X series is decent isnt it? (it is supposed to mate with their F#1 systems) They are never in dealer displays.

I had a pair that sounded amazing. Super punchy and pretty loud. From my knowledge and what I've heard many other people say, the Type R is a SQ woofer that doesn't hit very low or get very loud.

I agree on the hitting low part, it hits the low notes but not with much authority.

Also with the getting loud part, I don't have extensive experience with other woofers, but I thought they were pretty loud for the price.

about the type sub they can go very low look into a different enclousure. I have a two chamber ported box with a type r twelve and about 450 rms and it will make you a believer. I used to think the same way but my recent excursions with "get low" and some various songs have impressed the hell outta me
