I'm sure with a bigger box I could have hit the lows louder. But a single RE HC 15" woofer hits the lows so friggin loud

The type r's are a great woofer IMO. If I was to buy again, I'd probably get 4 Type R 12's and put them in a wall

i agree but comapring the re woofer to the little type r's is like comparing oranges to apples compare power handling and cone area big diff no wonder the re hc sounded much deeper with authority

I totally agree you can go wrong with the type r's. I wanna get my hands on one of those type x's Feed that sucker some power in a nice vented enclosure should feed my need for bass for awhile.

very interesting observation, what 12" subwoofers did you use that sounded sloppy and if xover was the key we would all get our woofers at radio shack </font>
Yes, that is right, I didnt like the sound of my 12's, they werent garbage drivers either, I just didnt like them. And yes x-over is key my friend, judging by your response to my post, even an expert such as yourself would know that, or you wouldnt have quoted me, or, nevermind I guess you dont PYLON!!!
And I bet you already shop at Radio Shack

Hey now, the Shack has good stuff. I buy all my Lithium batteries there for my camera...and I just got their digital mutimeter...cutting edge stuff.

Back to the subject at hand:

I've got my subs crossed over at 50hz @12db/oct. This is going to sound crazy, but try lowering your X.O. point and see how it sounds.
