If I was going to scrimp on items from an SQ point of view I would scrimp on the things that matter the least sonically... amps, wires, finish (appearance) on the install. If I still had to lower $ I would give up external processors, then go to a lesser woofer/ box.

So what matters most; install functionality (speaker placement and voicing), good component speaker set, and HU.

Of course you may choose the hard way, amd learn again,or find an expert, and let his/her passion take over and lead you to your desire.
