Interesting....that's 2 octaves higher......I have heard different results from yours but I guess that's why this is still fun after all these years.....other than in the doors, where all the sound from 80hz up is on the same plane, I believed what I was hearing was the result of time delay and phase issues.....

I used to wonder if setting up MB drivers below the seats and using a loading board to direct the sound out towards the doors and then using variable phase shifting to bring the sound back in sync with the sounds coming from the MR and tweeter would work, but the one person who tried (in a full size van) didn't think much of the results either.......I would love to see pics of a system that doesn't use door mounting for MB that did work out......

check out harry kimuras acura legend or richard clarks b.g.national. they run guides up front 500-20k at 18db/oct, then 12 inch subs in rear quarter panals and 15 inch subs in trunk from 50hz down. but tons of eq/& t/a.

If u had those pics handy posting them would be a great help. I haven't gotten anything installed in the car yet, couple days from now so I don't know if dedicated midbass will be required. I did have the energy 5.25's in my previous car and they did not reproduce any midbass so I am assume they will act the same in the Yaris. If so and I can put them under the seat it will relieve a large headache.

Why not have the midbass in the floor in front of the seat firing up?
I've heard it, and it wasn't horrible, but it wasn't super fantastic either.

Any reason why you can't put your midbass in the door and your midrange in a sort of kick panel ? (I guess 5¼ is a tad big). Personnaly, I drive a standard, and have 4" mids in the kick panels, but the pods are made in such a way that I can get my foot around it easily. Took a bit of getting used to (2 weeks or so), but now it's second nature to have my foot go around it...

5.25 is way too big for my yaris and my feet. I have had kick panels in the past with different vehicles and had no problem with them. With the Yaris though there is NO extra room at the pedals. The options are better if, like you said, I do a 4" or something then put the midbass in the doors. I think i'll price some pods out for that. That is if I can convince the wife why it's SO IMPORTANT. Maybe ill cut her off until I get them, hmmm....wonder if that'll work?

From one married guy to another, exactly what do you think you can cut her off of to bend her to your will??.....

Hope she doesn't just

Begs the question why you don't put the MB and the 5.25 in a plate in the door and put the tweets up top? It might have to be a little thick to fit the drivers in but even your wife would agree thick is good....

Just wondering.....

Hmmm, good question. Cut her off from what? financially maybe, but then again she does have a debit card. Ok so pretty much f#!*@d on that one. The reason that I don't want to modify the doors is cause its a lease. Although I could convine the dealership when I take it back that those new holes in the door are speed holes, meant to increase the power of the engine.

And yes I am thick, i'm 4 inches.......AROUND.
