Are you kidding? If you power the boston's with an amplifier (e.g. 125-150 rms x 2), they'll be able to go louder than you'd probably ever want to listen to them (and still sound great). The focals (kf series) seem to be a bit "warmer" of a speaker, but the bostons will go louder. It's important that you buy a component set that suites your application, whether it's focal, boston, or some other brand name. But that seems to be the main difference between the two from what I can tell (and I have listened to many bostons and focals over the years in both stores and vehicles).

Yes, those are focal's entry level speakers. A nice option for those on a tighter budget or for people who just want something better than factory speakers. For people who have more $ to spend on a car system, i'd recommend a different speaker. Of course, it also depends on the person. Some people would be more than happy with these speakers, while there are people like me who prefer speakers that are a bit better, yet still affordable.

It's really up to you to decide how much you want to spend and the quality of speakers you get, but in general focal makes very nice sounding speakers.

Great choice. I think I will be going with the pro60's as well (in my new car).

hard to go wrong with Bostons...I've listened to them for 20 years, particularly the pro series, and they always sound good.

He was pissed? lmao... What kind of friend is that? If he was a friend, he would be happy for you.

I listened to the focal kf's (with an audison amplifier) in my friends car yesterday. They can go loud and are very clean sounding speakers. That would be another nice option if you have a 80rms x 2 channel amplifier. The Boston pro60's will want about 125-150 rms x 2. Keep this in mind as well when choosing an amplifier.

In terms of "making the right choice" I just want to say that everyone has their own preference. Some people like focal, while others like JL, Boston, CDT, MB Quart, and the list goes on forever. Generally, I like to recommend that you listen to as many different speakers as possible, but a person really can't go wrong with the boston pro's, focal's and a lot of the other mid to higher sq component sets, just make sure you give the pro60's lots of clean power and you will not be disappointed.
