Too bad I don't have a vehicle with a setup in it But I can show you project '02 !! Maybe do some testing on Mark's car as it should be up and running within the next few weeks

I find myself in the market for an RTA. What are you using again?
I am considering the Audio Control unit but any GOOD PC based system may do the trick too.

It's a complete package including a mic.

But....and this is a big one.

It requires an ISA slot, my Dad donated to me an old Pentium2 PC to get the job done.

Very good complete package for $1400 US.

Another less costly option is Winclio. This program and hardware is actually prefered by Joe D'Appolito over MLLSA and LMS. He finds it easier to use...and it's a bit cheaper.

Cliowin, Linearx are AWSOME. The audio control is good and a nice all in one portable (and inexpensive relatively). The Term Lab should be good when it hits the streets too.

 

The Audiocontrol unit is really sweet...yea, I like the compactability of it, not to mention how easy it is to use and read.

Be nice if it came with a mic stand.

 

that's a nice flat curve you have there Adam...I'd say at least a 30 curve....not bad at all.

LOL yea....although in some cases, the RTA reading and what you hear can be off, that's why it's a good thing to have a decent Parametric EQ or Graphic if that's what your into(like me). That's what's so nice about the Adiocontrol digital peices, they have user pre-sets that allow you to have an RTA setting and a setting for listening even though the differences may be very small.

The only RTA reading I have seen that's better than that with a flat EQ setting, is a Jeep Cheroke that was built by Audiowaves here in Oshawa.....It was so bloody flat you could set your beer on it from 2K and up...with only a slight peak at 20KHZ and a couple peaks and valleys around the sub-midbass area, but nothing terribly serious, with some minor adjustments, the whole reading was as flat as a 10 year old girl, it was insane.

I saw that last week when the AC peice was installed and it really changed my outlook on EQ's. I may just RTA my system before I add the EQ to see what it reads and if it's fairly flat, like a 25-30 curve, I may just add a 7 band Parametric and scrap the Behringer...or use it in my home audio set-up which, again, probably doesn't need it.
