SACD player is finally here...
#21
I was told on this forum that Pioneer makes a DVD-A player...
I while back I posted about the hybrid discs that they compromise SQ to get the convenience of a dual format... why would you compromise SQ in a format designed (CD or SACD or DVD-A) to MAXIMIZE the recorded information. Why would you make it more like MP3? Just to save a format (SACD or DVD-A).
I never bought the "perfect sound forever" shtick, but CD does still have significance in the market and if you purchase a DVD-A or SACD player it will also play CD's so there is some solace in that. I say go for it check it out and compare a SACD or DVD-A to a CD player and if it has value buy it since even if the high end format fails there is still CD.
