Sound Quality

So how about this. What's the least amount of stuff in a car you've ever seen but been blown away by the SQ????? Throw out some names and parts and stuff.
I heard a system with two way passives and a 12" in a ported box off an Ample Audio amplifier that rocked. Kick panels were installed. IT wasn't perfect but it was impressive for what the guy paid. Stuff like that impresses me. And the guy thought it out well too. Cool. Wish more people did that with less gear.

Hm....I can't really think of a car that has had a minimalist system that I've thought "Wow, that sounds pretty good." I'm a firm believer in that it can be done, but I just can't think of a car that it has been done in that I've heard.
Sass, I wouldn't necessarily put your system in the 'minimalist' category. It's all active, uses pricey gear and some processing (the Berhinger). Just my opinion though. I'm thinking along the same lines as Tom: one amp, or two 2 channels, 2-way front with passives and 1 sub in a low-key install. It's rare to find one that really sounds nice.
I liked the sound I had in my Daytona, for what I had in it but I'm trying to think of vehicles other than my own. In that car, I had a Premier deck, passively-crossed 3-way front stage with RF Audiophile 6.5s in the door and RF Power 4/tweet in the kick, 2 2-channel Concept amps and an old Alpine 15 in the back. No outboard xovers or eq's. It had areas to improve upon for sure but for what I spent on it, it was good.

I once did a 240SX with 3 JL8w6, Rockford Audiophile 5.25 and tweet, and a single 250HCCA running all passive multimode
I thought it sounded excellent and scored pretty well back in 1994
In 1990 I qualified for IASCA finals with a pair of 15s, a pair of Polk 3.5s and a pair of tweets. One 4ch Alpine and one 2ch Alpine.
midbass??

sux: no processing, the behringer isn't in the car and hasn't been used at all, it makes a tiny amount of noise. I'm running 1 amp, 1 sub, 1 pair of componants, 1 RCA out of a deck that has a flat EQ curve. And the gear isn't that expensive.
