Here are a few pictures of the room construction. Nothing exciting here, just framing and such. This house is about 100 years old, and this will be the first time the basement has been finished. Before framing, I had to level the floor with self leveling cement. It took 6 bags for this size room and worked pretty well. This did tak way from the heigt of the room, but it was important to have a level surface to work with.
Framing was done with wood 2x4's, mostly on 24" centers. The photo on the left shows where two of the three movie poster frames will be inlayed.
The electrical in the house is very messy. I've cleaned it up where I could, but some if it will have to stay the way it is. This room will have a custom drop ceiling, so I will have full access to everything.

Are you keeping that window there?
One of the first things I did after setting up a projector in my basement was block the window with a piece of Bristol board.

u mean my setup right? keep in mind this is just a beginner... its also used by my kids. I think I will keep the enclosures but replace the drivers and rebuild the crossovers. I can hear a slight crackle from my center and rears, even when crossed over at 100Hz... I think the gids kave been GIVIN it ...lol, my little one just doesnt want to leave the basement now she loves watching her Barbie and Smurfs too on the screen.

btw did u notice the power supply on the floor with the oldschool rodek amp on top of it? yeah... thats my temporary sub amp till I buy a nice sub plate amp when a final subwoofer location is found

Need an electrician? ask Julian... I'm super clean and could probably get rid of quite a few junction boxes if thats a problem( usually is in these older houses)

I mentioned in another post that I will be building all of my speaker. Corner loaded subs are great for one note bass and hot spots. I'm trying to get some resolution from this system, thats why I'm putting a lot of work into it.

When start the speaker building thread, I will show how the speaker design can help control reflections and also reflections easier to predict.

Looking good Fozzzy. I'll post my new room here too, once I'm finished everything.

The window will stay. However, I will be changing it to glass block. The height of the window will be reduced aswell. This is the spae the projector will use. It should pretty much disappear in the room.
I di still want natural light in the room. When the time comes to watch a movie, I will cover it with the custom drapery that I'm having made for the window and also for around the screen.

The insulation pics will be posted soon. Spray foam is first.
