the more guys that stay in thier garage, the more guys will say remember when there use to be audio shows.
lastly how do you even know what sounds good, has the guy even heard another car. go to a show and listen to others , get inspired.

Very satisfying.. just listen to your discman with earbuds while in your car, everycouple of days lol
hahah.. NOT
theif.... my best advice would be to get yourself a pair of high quality headphones with nice flat response and then tune your system to sound like they do.....
they won't really help you with setting up install/stage tho.....

^ I agree good headphones do a very good job of reproducing tonal accuracy and usually much better than a car or a home stereo can do, but that is just it EVERY speaker and headphone deviates from neutrality. headphones dont do pinpoint images too well but you cant have everything.
As always I recommend live, preferably unamplified, music. I went to the symphony last weekend and I also caught a HS band recital and I was musically 'put in my place' by the sound. I call it calibration of the ear, additional benefits; I took the wife out to dinner and a symphony (AKA the wife stoped bitching for a couple hours)

Hey whazup...haven't been around for a while...
I've got withdrawals right now
....
My car has been in the shop for almost two weeks (a Father & Son Mechanic biz, son tore his ankle ligaments day after I bought the car in) so it'll be nice to get it back...and it'll be nice to get the stereo back again
...been driving a 2004 Buick Regal LS with stock Concert Sound II, not bad for a stock system, but gaad does it suck compared to what I'm used to, LOL!!!

If your reference is bose, then tin cans and string should sound great to you. I agree with surround sound in part... get out to some sound quality competitions and listen to some really high end systems.
