I would take them for that price, maybe I'll get lucky and they'll finish low.
Cheers bro!
If you are buying those make sure they put the package as GIFT and lower the value below 60 bucks- otherwise custom will open it and bill you 50 bucks just for that (taxes on top).... I wait till i have more items to buy from states and drive to Niagara and pick em up from UPS location.... waaaay cheaper

Personally I would use all of the RCAs on the deck first before I started chaining them together, more signal control if nothing else......

One of the things I really like about the Kenwood Excelon decks is the ability to shut off the internal speaker amp and feed more juice to the RCAs....as mentioned earlier the higher voltage level makes for a lower noise floor in the signal path.....especially important when dealing with line level signals....

Most amps with dedicated RCA output jacks will pass through whatever voltage level you supply them.....some have a Xover function built-in that works opposite the original one that feeds the amp, which is handy if your deck has limited options......

I have some stuff in my wife's 2000 Grand Caravan, if you amplify the front speakers and run the rear 6X9s or 6.5s off the deck you will never hear anything coming out of those rear mounted tweeters.....I didn't even bother hooking them up with the new toys.....

HTH

J -Those Hertz went way high, almost $250 with Shipping. bummer. But maybe I lucked out. The seller was a 16 feedback newbie , item in the states but he's in korea. A little scetchy.. Maybe for the best, but hes selling another pair ending tomorrow!!
Fake speakers? Damn, even new in box ?
Do you know of a link that could help me understand how to use a multimeter(very little experience but we have one) to test various parts?

Luke - usually I try to get ppl from the states to send USPS , seems like its a 50/50 chance of getting robbed at the border, when UPS gets you everytime. My hybrid cap just came last week, was a gift marked at $40, UPS still took another $17 !!
I don't like to ask ppl to break the rules(gift lower price etc), but I love it when they do !!

RED- I only have 1 preout on the deck , the indash eq has 3 but only one dedicated bass output, I wouldnt get the same level of control on the subs using the front or rear channels for subs because the bass options of the eq dont apply to the f/r channels. At least thats the way I understand the eq I have. Is there a way around it maybe?
We already dont hear those silly tweeters, we're likely just going to wire them for the door chimes if we can. Dumb dumb speaker size and placment!!

Thanks Guys

Hey j - I think I found a pair of Morel I may be able to afford( I'll sell some crap on ebay..lol)
morel tempo 6x , do you know anything about them?
How do you feel they compare to the hertz or the jlaudio?

I guess I'm asking because I don't really know how to "grade" speakers using the specs, generally I look only at rms wattage and sensitivity. I just go with bigger numbers .
But what ARE the most important specs for SQ?

lol, there are no specs more important for SQ.

SQ is too subjective. You may love a completely different type of sound than me.

Use the specs as a guideline to ensure you purchase a speaker that will perform optimally with your system. but outside of that, you should really go to some car audio shops and listen to them first hand.

i have not listened to the morel tempos. they are the companies entry level speaker however, so don't expect much more than extry level performance (as with any company).

with the above brands, i have not listened to all of their offerings, but i have owned Alpine, JL, Focal, and Hertz 6.5" sets.

they get better in that order, (hertz the best)

just be patient and a deal will come along. hasty buying is the worst thing ever!
check the classifieds here and on local buy and sell sites, and you will find something.

just do your research.

Well , after much searching, bidding and losing, reading stats and weighing pros and cons I've bought the new components.
DIAMOND AUDIO D662S ..

# DIAMOND AUDIO D662A 6.5" 300 Watt Component Speaker System w/ Silk Tweeters
# Able to be Used as a Component -or- Coaxial System
# 2) 6.5" Midbass Speakers
# 2) 1" SilkTweeters
# 2) Passive X-Overs
# Sensitivity: 87.4 dB
# RMS Power Range : 75 Watt (150 Watt Pair)
# Peak Power Handling: 150 Watts (300 Watt Pair)
# Frequency response: 45-22000 Hz
# Diameter: 6.5 Inch
# Hard Annodized Aluminum Cone
# Rubber Surround
# High Density Proprietary Composite Frame
# Flat Progressive Spider
# Inductively Controlled Motor Design
# Rubber Boot Magnet Protector
# Model Specific Crossovers
# RAF (Rear Acoustic Fill)
# Silk Tweeters

I really like the RAF - I can run another set of speakers off the crossover without need for another amp. Designed for "rear fill".
Seems perfect for my PG 6.5 mids just in pods on the side doors( much closer than 6x9's on the subs)
Then I can skip the 6x9s(if wanted) and have no need for the decks amp.

I really wanted silk tweeters and the aluminum cone woofers should give me tight midbass and will match the alum. cone of the PG.

The sensitvity isn't as good as I'd like but thats all I am conerned about.

Just over $200 CDN

So everything is bought now. I`ll take some pics when we get going and post èm for kicks.
