Hi guys, I am looking for recommendation for an SQ amp. I have 2 Eclipse SW8200 drivers that can go nice and low, good SQ... I was using a jl 500/1 and it gave up due to a surge. I am just curious what are my options for a nice SQ amp with at least 500RMS @ 1-1.5ohm...

I'm looking into Audison series... are all of them manufactured in Italy? And is it worth it with my setup or should i just stick with another jl?

 

not all, if fact hardly any are made in Italy anymore........look for big Class A/B power that will work with your net impedance

 

I always thought A/B class was meant for front stage (stereo) application.... can you run them as mono(single driver) at 1ohm? Usually when they are bridged they are 4ohm...

I have both woofers in parallel for net 1.5ohm, I really dont want to be taking the box out and apart to change this (its a big box that needs 2+ ppl to get out of my hatchback (over 5qubes lol)

 

There are Class A/B amps that can run low impedances, under 1 ohm even. For subs though, ClassD is more popular as they are smaller and more efficient.

Huge improvements have been made in full range Class D/T amps too.

 

An excellent choice IMO is a image dynamics Q600.1 it does 600watts @1ohm And a/b class.
