Sub position?

Just curious but I see alot of installs that have the subs in opposite sides of the trunk facing each other? Now I thought this cancelled out some sound waves or something like that, if so how major is it. I want to make some small pods for my mini van i know, and the only way to do this and keep me happy would to have the speakers like previously stated. I just dont wanna spend that much time making something thatss gonna sound like crappolla.

you might still be better building a very shallow box that tucks up snugly against the back seats of your van. and it will more likely give you better air volume inside the box then 2 smaller little fiberglassed pods.
