my deck is a Pioneer Premier - DEHP600UB.

I think i remember seeing that setting, is it something like HFP or something similar to that?

 

You can turn the HPF on by going to the audio menu and using the multi-control to select HPF. When it is on you can push the multi-control to select a cut off frequency.

 

so how do i know what a good cut off frequency is?

 

you should just get an amp for speakers.

is sound quality affected by not having an amp? i thought it was just how loud the speakers would be able to go (i thought all an amp for the speakers did was supply more power to them, not affect sound quality)

 

An amp will give you more power. This will allow you to play your speakers louder with less distortion. The amps built into the deck are not nearly as good as an external amp and as a result there can be a lot of distortion from trying to push the deck beyond it's capabilities. However you do not necessarily need one. For a cut off range use 80Hz for your HPF.

but now, my other front speaker doesnt work anymore. The tweeter plays but the larger speaker part doesnt. Is this possibly a wiring issue or is my speaker toast? I pulled out my deck and all the wires are secure and there are none lying around. I also pulled off my door panel and pulled out the speaker, nothing is missing there either as far as i can tell. Im going to talk to kicker about this and see what they will do for me.

I also found my crossover, what should i be looking for on that to decide if its causing the problem?

 

is an amp for (my set of) speakers really worth it? My speakers start to sound like crap at about volume 50, is this caused by the deck being the power source, or do the speakers start to give out then?

If i could buy, say ->THIS<- amp would there be a noticeable difference in sound quality and max volume?
