I could be wrong but I think there were some older PPI boxes you could buy that were TA units.
TA is useful if you know how to apply it properly. It's a tool that can be abused easily and has gotten an unfair rap. Everything in moderation.

What about when you have a three way setup? And you want to delay the door mounted midbass to match up with kick panel mounted tweets. I mean we are talking about cars, which never have ideal speaker placement no matter what.
Alot of the top cars at Finals had some sort of Time Alignment. Are all those cars band aids?
I say use every tool available.
