tweeter a pillar , fiberglass

I believe there's some magical number for PLD's that if you go beyond, you're really murdering the signal quality by processing the hell out of it to bring things back into alignment. I'm too old to remember what that number is but Paulie might remember (?!?!?!).
Depending on the design of the dash and window angling, the best I seemed to have found was angling the tweeters parallel to the front window and slightly up from the bottom corners. I could get really flat tweeters to sit pretty deep into the A-pillars and gain some of that width I like. It also put the closer tweeter off-axis so you didn't need to tame it so much. This is not to say this setup will work in every case, but I had success with it.
I'm still all kinds jealous about those mids in the dash. I really want a 4" mid in my setup, but cutting up the dash on my Mini just isn't in the cards.

the 4's play pretty high so hoping the tweets volume can be low, just enough not to be overpowering. i still have the pods when mounted lower. so can easily make the change. all your points are worthy.

it has been done
would not do a radio surround, apillar no problem. feels like felt. my 4 inch dash pod is going strong for 3 years, any marking is from me removing the driver multiple times.

Cool Im going to have to check it out and play with, The durability question comes up because I knew a guy who did whole dashes for race cars (cuts down on reflection) and I was hoping to try doing it on the plastic section closes to the windshield for the same reason (glare)
