Mark, they are from the Focal Utopia line.

That's the kit I have in the car.
My point of reference is 15 years of being around my dad and his expliots. (He's a professional speaker designer) A really good way to hear stuff is to go to a trade show like CES, and wander the high end hotel rooms. I'm not saying you'll become and expert at evaluating driver's by doing this, (I am certainly just an average enthusiast with unique experiences) but it will give you a pretty good point of reference for what things "should" sound like.
The Vifa XT25 tweeter sounds good. For the price, it's a really good bang for the buck.
Here's what I found with this tweeter:
In my car, they like to be away from the windshield. Down in my kick area, they sound pretty decent. They are much more laid back than the Focal TN51, but still have good extension. What they lack is an air of depth. Music seams a bit mysterious and undefined with them. Again, we are taking about a driver that was designed for home audio and placing it off axis in my car. A big issue for me is ease of placement, and any home audio tweeter is going to be a pain in this area. So if you have the space, it's a cheap upgrade to the TN51. But...there are better tweeters.

defro13,
I've got lots of experience with the MDT33, I agree that's it's a very good driver. But, all of my experience with it is in the home audio environment. I have no idea how it will respond when placed in my kick area or up near the windshield. Placing any driver inside of a car changes its sound, although mostly through near field reflections.
I plan to study the effects of placing drivers in different locations in the spring. Specifically, tweeters and how they respond to dash mounting vs. kick mounting. I good quality RTA will be used to graph the response at lets say at least 12 points per octave. Should be fun.
How the heck would you mount an MDT33?
Not to my A-pillar, I've got an airbag module under the moulding.

I'd like to have every tweeter I can find. Then I'll do some tests to find out which one will work in my car. Just too hard to say how a tweeter will sound by looking at the specs.
Currious aren't you Chadxton?

hi adam
right now im using 5" scanspeak in 323i.
im happy with the sound, but as u can see we have a problem with the space in our car, is so difficult to find a place for 5" twet.
if you want a "high end" tweeter try scanspeak R2904/700000.
