meet ya at 420 ,

WE should start a soundoff where guys compete on a street level single sub setup brand vs. nother brand etc ... same 1000 watts Pyramid amp vs. Esoteric since accocurding to some members all amps sound the same and no audiable difference can be heard .

ok, no amp/sound post hijacking!!

the only real question is, what/whose amp do we use to compare the 2 subs.

Ok, Here's my opinion on the Two Subs.

One Sub is built to handle lots of power...unfortunatley this Sub can EXPLODE when placed inside a small Box and given ludicrous amounts of power, because of this constant voice coil problem that Idmax owners have been experiencing I have concluded that the Sub is not built to withstand SPL pressure of more than about 800 Watts RMS.

The other Sub can also handle lots of power...only this Sub does not blow up in a small box, it is built like a **** brick house and will take a beating of any amount of wattage and will still sound good without breaking apart, during linear peaks.

It has voice coil alignment technology that keeps the Sub's voice coil aligned during peak transients...sure it takes more GAS for it to run but in the long run it is well worth the investment in common sense technology. I bet it takes at least 1200 Watts before it's voice coil starts to get warm.

JL even recomends a slot ported enclosure for this Sub because slot ports can handle much more power through them than regular cylindrical ports.

Bottom line, unless you go for any other Good SPL subs---ED---XXX---RE---JL's monster's are an American Gas guzzling engineering marvel.

I'm waiting to Install my 13W7. And I can't wait to hear it.

It'll have to be a 12W7 and a MAX. Hands down, the 13W7 will blow the pants off the MAX. If it's a 10W7 and a MAX, I nominate PLOW's. Hahahahaha...

And Marco, I had to waste 5 mins just to waste 1 of your mins. That's a bargain for you. &gt

And to add, Fishbone, sorry for wasting your time on saturday. Had I known I was gonna be so busy, I would've asked to meet up another day. Sorry about that man.

Damn, I'm just wasting everyone's time.
