As some of you know I have my Focal Utopia's.....however, some mindless friend of mine accidentlly switched my Xtant 2140C to lowpass when I had them in my van and it's hurt my Tn51's pretty badly.

I run the Utopia passive X-overs but I would like to switch out the TN-51's with something else. Possibly a Seas or maybe ScanSpeak tweet, or whatever I find interesting...gotta research a bit.

Anyway, can I do this without changing the x-over points of the passive unit?

 

^ It shouldn't hurt the tweeters, if you had the passive x-over on it.

 

yea it did, you should have seen the mid move!! holy crap, it looked like a sub.....anyway, whatever happened, the tweets aren't working very good.

 

have you tried the tweeters in a diff car or have a shop test them

 

they crackle dude, I wasn't born yesterday, I know they're blown.....well, on thier way out (they still play).

 

buy a pair of DLS nobelyium (sp) tweets... or some scanspeak revelators
