If you have just the one, look for an amplifier that produces 300-600 RMS @ 2 ohms.

If you have two, look for an amplifier that produces 2x300-600 RMS @ 2 ohms stereo or an amplifier that produces 600-1200 RMS @ 4 ohms or 1 ohm mono/bridged.

After you find an amplifier you think you may want to buy, you should probably ask on here whether or not it's a good amp for a good price ...

i think you got it backwards... when you have two subs in parallel on a mono block, and they are 4 ohm subs, thats a 2 ohm load total. so you'd want 600-1200w RMS at 2 ohms, or 2x300-600w rms at 4 ohms per channel

Actually, the "D" in the woofer designation stands for "dual voice coil". They are dual 4ohm voice coil drivers.
Jmac's statement is correct.

GENERALLY,AT OUR SHOP WE SELL AS MUCH AMP AS THE CUSTOMER CAN AFFORD. REASON BEING, SPEAKERS ARE LESS LIKELY TO BE DAMAGED BY A LOT OF CLEAN POWER THAN THEY ARE BY SOMETHING LIKE A LEGACY RUNNING IN DISTORTION.

WHAT KIND OF BOX ARE THEY IN?
SEALED BOXES GIVE TRUER SOUND THAN VENTED, BUT REQUIRE MORE POWER FOR A GIVEN SPL AND WITH THE ADVENT OF EXTREMELY POWERFUL MOTORS ON SMALL BOX SUBS, AS WELL AS THE ABVAILABILITY OF AFFORDABLE BIG POWER, THE RISING TEMPERATURE IN THE BOX BECOMES A THERMAL COMPRESSION/OVERHEAT ISSUE OVER LONG TERM HIGH POWER USEAGE.
VENTED BOXES WILL GIVE A HIGHER OUTPUT, BUT THE ONLY TRUE NOTE THEY GIVE YOU IS THE ONE THAT IS AT THE OPTIMUM TUNING FREQUENCY OF THE BOX. ALL OTHER NOTES GET PROGRESSIVELY MUDDIER THE FARTHER AWAY FROM THIS NOTE YOU GET.
ALSO, FEEDING HIGH AMPLITUDE SIGNAL INTO THE SPEAKERS BELOW THE BOX TUNING FREQUENCY CAN RESULT IN MECHANICAL DAMAGE AS THE DRIVER IS OPERATING IN AN UNLOADED CONDITION. ( MEANS: NO 20HZ BASS MECHANICS STUFF INTO YOUR VENTED BOX WITH THE VOLUME CRANKED )
BUT YOU'RE LOUDER WITH LESS JUICE.
HOPE THIS HELPS.
