True.

i thought the reason we dont like to use isolators is because they cause they loose about 1 volt

That system is almost exactly what I have in my 1991 civic with the exception of a few brands. It is a really good setup for that car.

honestly, you really do not need to have the upgraded alternator though. The Batcap is a great device to use in this system, and because of the low ESR, it works as a car battery would, but will yield way better transients then not using one. The only way you would potentially need the alternator upgrade is if you added the A/C to your car when you changed it from a cx to and SIR. The other thing would be if you were using the car for other uses than SQ....lets say SPL. If you were though, you would likely have used different equipment in the car.

You will be amazed at the batcap on that system though. I have used them on a few occasions...wow! I hope all goes well. Where are the Canton speakers going/....Doors?

Umm let me tell you this from personal experience, my stock alt put out around 55 amps, I blew 4 of them in 2 years with a way more modest system then I have going in to the car now. Even though the stock alt may support the system on its own its not going to support the system + headlights, + heating system + defroster+ fog lights+ other accessories. You want to try running my car with to class a/b amps plus all the other accessories in my car with a stock alt? go ahead see how long it lasts.

Just to clarify my cars maxium draw from just the factory items in the car running is close to 55 amps, and my car is a base model. And the total fusing on my amps is 130amps (yes I know they wont ever draw nearly that amount) bud as I said before I have other accessories in the car and I would rather have more charging capacity then less. Headroom people, headroom!

I'm the last person you need to preach headroom to. Just trying to give you some advice (which you asked for btw) and save you some cash.
As I said before I feel the upgraded alt is a great idea. What you don't need though is a pair of big batteries, an isolator, a big cap, and a whole lot of wire and connections.
Get the H.O. alt and one nice big battery. If you can't fit something decent up front then relocate it to the rear. If you plan on running the system with the vehicle off then buy something plenty big. With those amps you'll have to be playing plenty long to wear down a good sized battery.
Keep it simple.

I already have all the equipment anyway, and I barely payed any more for it, except for the alt. And I didnt ask for advice, read the thread title: "opinnions and feedback", I was just interested what people thought of the system, and im not going to go and change it especially since I have all the equipment already. Amd really my electrical system is not that complicated when you stop and look, the only extra components im running are an extra battery with isolator and a batcap. Look at it this way, though you may not believe me the batcap, or even a conventional cap is nessecary to preserve the life of the internal voltage regulator on the alt. This was explained to me by a gentlemen who has been building highoutput alternators his whole life and is probably the single most knowledgeable person I have ever met when it comes to auto 12v systems. And the extra battery I also need as this is an SQ based system in a noisy 91 civic so im not going to sit there for a hours on end with the motor running wasting gas and making noise. And im also not running 2 "big batteries" either for your information, im running one oem sized battery which is the one in charge of starting the car, and the optima yellow for running the stereo when the motor is off. Im not try to tell make you feel like a stupid person here but even though I may be a young guy at 20 1/2 years but my whole life has been centered around cars for years and I work in the industry as well so I do know a thing or two especially when it comes to vehicle electrical systems. I didnt just throw this system together over night either, as I said I spent well over a year now collecting components, doing research, and rulling out alot of unesscary gear. The difference between me and most other guys is that the majority of my knowledge is from the hands on real world experience, not from stuff I have read in books and magazines.

I claimed I was an electrical wizard.
I simply know what I have learned though research.
talking with the experts, and my own trial and error with my own car. So forgive me if i'm an audio genius like myself but im here and im the best. [/QB]
Just remember Thrill House that you are not talking to a bunch of newbie in the industry. When you ask people advice, you are getting some of the best people around. People who have been to more than their share of IASCA and USAC finals as well as SPL events. We aren't trying to lead you down some garden path! As I have mentioned to you.....I HAVE ALMOST THE IDENTICAL SORT OF SETUP!

Nevertheless, do what you want, we are all trying to help with opinions YOU HAVE ASKED FOR.

I doesn't matter if you have put a year or five into picking out what you want for your car. There are smart guys HELPING YOU with 12-15 years in building high end systems.

JUST TRYING TO HELP DUDE!
