x889 is a pimp deck..... one of the better sounding units that I know of that won't set you back a mortage.

Oddly enough, I also had a 9813 in my civic! (it is still in my drawer actually. I saved a few settings after setting the EQ, time delay, and such. I went away for seven weeks and left the dome light on in the car as it sat in the garage. To my surprise, all was erased but the memory settings! I always thought that it was a volitile memory, but maybe it isn't? Perhaps there is a Lith-ion inside? (I don't think so)

Oh well, can't explain it.

ID sub is great! Well designed and the crew have designed the driver with a "Q" that will work witha wide range of enclosures. (make sure you listen to your setup after....that car loves to have subs 180 degrees out of phase if you are using a spare tire well box.

I haven't used Canton since about 1990, so I am not sure about that model you are using.

My civic is a stick too and I have kicks in it which work awesome. The only thing is that mine are 5.25 and tweet. The thing is to try and experiment until you really get what you are after. Spend all of your time here...it will pay off.

Good reliable amps.

Have fun!

I found that I dont really need to run kicks in this car with the way I have it setup, not that I couldnt but I really dont want to loose the little bit of room that I have on the drivers side to rest my foot. Also as my car is driven everyday and I take alot of people in it, sooner or later a kick will get damaged, more the likely by me. For now im just going to work with what I have and see what it takes me, whos knows what I might do in the future though. Thanks for the info. it was not something I was aware of until you told me. Its a good thing the 9813 allows you to change the subs phasing on the fly!

Yes, you do have to change your driving style a bit if you are using kicks. Well, there is always the option of going bigger in the custom dash area. That car is really easy to move the guage clusters over to where the clock is in the dash. (above the air controls.) Then you could make custom enclosures on each side of the dash for the 4" and tweet. It will buy you about an extra inch or two in stage height, but you would really have to play around to get the image that kicks give off in that car.

Anyway, hope it all works out no matter what you choose.
