8's for mid bass ?
I was talking with a guy that sujested that using these 8's [1 free air and 1 sealed as listed in other post, sorry not sure how to pull link in to this post ] as mid bass drivers ,I should put them in 1/4 cube sealed boxes. He also said that the speakers would roll off natrally and that I shouldn't worry about finding an amp with a sub sonic filter to limit 100-250 hz. Poineer finally answered my email and said the sealed sub should be in a .8cft box. Any thoughts ?

In all honesty, I would not suggest using differing subs to play the same range. Basically, if you put them both in the same style and size box, they will not sound the same as they are different drivers.
That being said, you can put any driver in any enclosure you want, it will simply make them sound different and change their output properties. As a result, 0.8cu·ft might be Pioneers suggestion but they probably just pulled that number from a peice of paper and it may be ideal small box, ideal normal or ideal large box.
I personally suggest doesnloing a copy of Perfect Box, it's a crappy DOS program that calculates box sizes. If you don't like DOS, try WinISD available at www.linearteam.org/winisd.html. Since these drivers are older, I would suggest getting WinISD, not WinISD PRO. Normal WinISD has a lot of older drivers in it already. In about 10 minutes you will be able to figure out how to use any of the programs I listed, Perfect Box is my personal favorite.
