Not sure if this is normal but the unit after install is sticking out about a half inch. Does anyone have any feedback you could offer or is this pretty much normal in Jetta's ? Thanks Bobby

 

I have a jetta also, mine sticks out less, but does stick out about 1/2 an inch.

You have to cut out the plastic behind the deck that holds the factory HU and pcket, as, the pocket is short and the plastic behind it will push it out.

we did that as well I guess it is about a half a inch as well so that is the norm then. I wish it sat flush but the unit itself is amazing so that is wishfull thinking...

my old s10 had that problem, the alpine deck would stick out like 1/2 an inch. so i took a heat gun to the vents behind it and pushed them back lol.
a cheap fix but i still had air flow.
all depends on what yours are stuck on
