Hi everyone,

Alright so I have a kenwood deck, forget the model, but it's newer. I have a pyramid power amp (1000watt max, duno rms) 4ch. Two channels goto the rear speakers, and I bridged the other two channels for my sub. The sub is JVC 600watt rms. The power wire on the amp is 8ga, but it's kinda cheap, so who knows. The gain levels on the amp are at half.
Alright so, everything works great, but if I turn the volume up past about 23, (which in my opinion isnt rediculously loud), the sound cuts out, and the protection led turns red on the amp. The amp will start working again if i turn the vol down. This never happened when the sub wasn't connected, now that it is, it cuts out at high vols. Someone help me out!

the problm may be that you have the speakers or sub wired for a load that is too low for the amp. you could take a multimeter and cheak the ohms at the end if the speker wires to see what load you are putting on the amp. for the sub that you have bridged - half the reading you get. your amp may not be stable at these low ohms so it shuts off.

And if it isn't a load issue check for a bad ground on the amp or a speaker wire/lead that's arcing on something.

A bad ground would be my first guess.

Maybe if you had the model of the JVC sub to find out the voice coil setup.
