The car Fozz built!!!
I dont want to say too much on the amp rack until is all done. My mind may change as I start the build. But the amps will be covered by glass, and it will be place very close to the amps. And while the amps are class D and dont get super hot, they will still warm up. To help with this I will be reusing my cooling system from my previous install. 4 pairs of independently monitored variable speed fans will pull/push air around the amplifiers. There is also a secondary system that adds CO2 into the mix if the amps get really hot.
I will show all of this at a later date.

I thought 2 of the amps were 4 channel AB and two were mono class D. . . which amp did you gut for the shell?
I look forward to seeing how you will execute the rest of the install.
Keep posting the pics
(although these pics have me looking at the dash of Tercel and thinking it can easily house an 8" sub . . . but I'm such a novice that I shouldn't undertake a project like that - but your pics have me hankering to try something beyond my abilities).
All of the JL HD amplifiers are full range class D.
I've been waiting for my aluminum to come in so I havent gotten much done in the last week or so. But I did manage to start glassing my kicks and do a little more sub enclosure work. The fist few pics show the basic process of how to make a mold of the kick panel area.
The second set of pics show the second phase of the subwoofer cabinet. You can see that I've increased it height be a good amount.

I've listened to Turner's car ump-teen times to date............ although since the last time, it's been a while. But always liked how his car sounded......... although I vaguely remember he still had two issues to sort out sound wise. Can't remember right now what they were though............ ha, ha, ha.
This looks like a really nice project. I talk to Buwalda once in a while keeping up to speed on what he's putting on the market and how things are doing. I'm hoping to get a listen to these new tweeters........... as I'm looking for something for the build I'm going to be doing..............

When you build a cabinet for speakers your trying to keep your energy losses to a minimum. Making each cabinet as rigid and dense as possible helps do this. You can use lots of different materails and techniques. People use braces, add clay, lead or what ever they can think of to build the best cabinet possible.
