Hey just wondering if any one could help me with this problem.

The system i have in my car is alpine (except for kicker subs). I run two amps, a mono to my sub and a 4 channel to my speakers. The problem is when i turn my volume up the speakers cut in and out randomly. The amp still stays powered up with no red light coming on or anything. If i turn the volume down it will stop. The funny thing is it is only the one amp, my subs still pound and all 4 speakers cut out.my power and ground are all good connections and my subs are factory wired so they should be good to.any help would be greatly appreciated.

perhaps, you are overloading the 4 ch amp? what is it's rating? what do you have for speakers?, maybe one of your speakers has reversed polarity. does the 1 remote wire off your deck turn on both amps? if so, this could be a problem also. also check your rca's for any kinks etc. could work great at low volume, but once you power the system up a bit, it could cause a short(as well as speaker leads). hope some of this stuff helps.

Thanks for the advice. I am running 4 Alpine type R's SPR-17C off of a Alpine V-power MRP F-450. it is rated at 450 watts RMS. Since the warning light doesn't turn on on the amp it makes me think it is not an overload issue...but i could be wrong. What is the best way to check for polarity on my speakers, because that could be it? Yes i only have one remote wire, i split it about 12 inches from the amps into each amp, how does that affect the amps? thanks again nos your help greatly appreciated. this is really starting to bug me.

This happened to me when a wire accidentally was shorting the positive and negative post on one of my speaker channels, double check connections from amp to speakers.
