As far as I know, usually clipping isn't so much an issue for the amplifier as it is the subwoofer it's powering... I don't think its the problem

You should try and get a meter to check voltage on a mean bass note, maybe it's dipping too low on these notes and protecting. Whats your electrical like?

it dips to JUST under 13v at the most i believe, but I've never checked it right after it protects because I'm driving.

Electrical as in my entire speaker system? or just to/from the amp?

Whats your battery like?... how big of power/ground wire are you running? If its only going slightly under 13 then that can't be the issue... but see if you can actually measure it on a deep note with a multimeter or something... I'm not sure.

So last night I was playing Late Night Tip, and the deep bass hit and the amp went into protect right away, first note.

I turned the subsonic to 35hz and changed the Bass EQ back to 4db and its good to go.

check all your power and ground connections and make sure your power and ground wire is heavy enough for the application....

your amp is probably going into protection because the voltage is dipping severly....
