in a car how long will the smell last in the car?

It can last a very long time.....slap a coat of primer on and you'll be set.

the smell is in the car i have the f/g out and working on it
i can not slap a coat on something like the rug i do not see any f/g in the car

Why does your car smell like fiberglass?
Did you have some glass work done in the car? Or was the car just hangin out in a fiberglass environment?.

^^Take that apart and primer it.....then go to a car wash and shampoo your carpets and seats.
Then drive around really fast with the windows open for a couple of days.
This works, I've done it.
