Just bought an id max 12" anyone have any input on these? Ported vs Sealed with a JL500
also anyone with a JL300/ 2 or 4 have any problem with them or good luck?

Excellent SQ and very efficient. Should work very well with a 500/1.
Ported for best results.

Which version do you have?

IDMAX 12 V.3 D4 chrome, haven't made a box yet, still have to cut the old one out of car

The IDMAX12 doesn't loose much frequencey response goin from sealed to ported and stays very linear, and u get a 4-6db increase. both are amazing enclosures to put ur SQ subs in.
