Minimum amount of connections in order for headunit to power up?
did you test it from the battery as previously stated. If you use the wires at the harness the head unit will not turn on as the Acc. wire from the car is NOT actually power it is a DATA(computer turn on) and the head unit will not turn on. You can still twist the Acc. and the Const. from the HU and use the ground, it should turn on if not check fuses grounds etc before diagnosing a dead unit.
Yeah, I tested it directly from the battery and got nothing. Wired constant+switched to positive and ground to neg... Not a thing.
And the Acc wire actually is 12V when the key it turned, 0 when it's not. I checked it with a voltmeter before I started today, just to make sure I knew which wires were which...
My truck has a separate wire for Computer data control in the harness...
All fuses in the car are good, along with the fuse in the back of the head unit (I even switched it with a known good fuse just to make sure)
