There should be no "pressing down" required - the threaded connection between the nut and screw will provide all the clamping force that's needed. Use longer screws/bolts if you can't reach the nut without pressure.

Took me a while , but if your installing the sub in a sealed box and want bolts on the inside of it why don't you try something like this ?

I have a few different ones on ebay that are made for different things .
try a search for
wall anchor bolts .

I would post the ebay links but I'm not sure if it's allowed here or not.

With the Tee nuts i found that if you use a piece of wood with the same size hole and a washer as a spacer, you can then tighten the tee nut into place with the bolt. Once you are sure the tee nut has sunk in you can undo the bolt. This assures that the bolt is secure and the wood spacer prevents damage to the baffle.

i dunno man i think they might be getting a bit to tight...try tightening them by hand as long as they are snug and holding the sub tightly to the box they should loosen off...


ive always just used the screws provided with the sub or drywall screws...never had a problem
