Need help with connecting 8 ohm crossover
Hey guys,
Im very confused at the moment with regards to impedences of the crossover and how it affects the impedence of the speaker load.
Im trying to wire 2 bullet tweeters for my highs. Each of these are rated at 8 ohms each. I have an amp that will push 180 wrms at 4 ohms.
What i plan to do is wire both these tweeters in parallel to make 4 ohms for my amp.
MY QUESTION
Im looking to get an eminence crossover that will cut the lows out at 3.5 khz.
The crossover also has a rating of 8 ohms.
How do i connect this crossover to my tweeters and amp in order to get a final load of 4 ohms to satisfy the output of my amp. Is this possible? does the load of the crossover even matter? do i connect it in series or parallel?
If you need more information from me just ask.
Please help
Thanks

You will need a crossover for each bullet tweeter. The crossover does not present an 8 ohm load to the amp but more it is designed to cross over an 8ohm speaker at 3.5kHz.
The crossover should have an input from the amp and an output for the speaker. Wire both crossover inputs in parallel to the amp for a 4 ohm load on the amp. Each respective crossover output goes to one tweeter

Thanks for the Reply Dukk.
Can you take a look at the crude drawing i made and tell me if this is what you mean? I would assume that the load to the amp would still mean the 2 8ohm tweeters in parallel to produce a 4 ohm load.
Thanks

Another question i have if you can help me out is this.
I have 6 eminence alpha6c speakers all powered with 80 wrms each on my rear seat fold down firing forward. Do you think 2 50 wrms tweeters/horns would be sufficient to sound good with this setup? or would i need 2 more?
Thanks again
