Ok, i bought an install kit with brackets and the wire harness. The wiring all appears to be correct, but I can only get it to illuminate...it will take and eject a CD, but will not play it or do anything else. I tried a different deck and it did tha same thing...is there something i'm missing?

 

What kind of cd player is it, what kind of vehicle is it. Does the old radio still work?

 

its a sony...and i tried a blaupunkt since i had one laying around. I checked all the fuses and all look fine. It's a 2000 Chevy Cavalier. I previously had a stereo in it, but almost sold it so I took the deck out. A yea later a bought a new one and try to install it an no go. I put the factory radio back in and it still works. When I plug the new stereo in, it rotates the cd player so its getting some power. I noticed when I turned my key with my old deck, the door ajar ding would come on in my car. with the new sony of blau, the ding won't sound. Any guesses?

i checked the reg ignition and it has juice...here's something even funnier...when i put the sony in, my trunk light will not work...i put the factory radio back in and it works again. what the heck could be going on?

 

2000 Cavalier, could this be related to the GM interface needed, for door chimes etc, or am I way off base?
