If you want to weld a piece to your vehicle you can. I suggest not wasting your time trying to weld a piece of brass to steel, as it will not work. If you want to go that route, just go by some 5/8" square stock, drill and tap it out to what ever you need, and then weld away. You can weld on a vehicle be it the frame or body without any problems. Only areas that need to be avoided at all costs are steering and suspension components. This should not be a problem for you as I asume you want to weld the block to the body in the interior of your car? Once you have your block made, just go rent a mig from a local rental store, make sure you get it with .030" wire, and ask for a CO2 Mixed gas, and you will have not worries. Any more welding questions from anyone, just shoot them my way, thats what i do for a living!!!
