Tap Rear 6x9 Speakers (pictures included)

Hello,

Brand New 2013 Camry SE...Installing 12" Kicker subs and amplifier; however, I do NOT want to remove the factory touch screen HU (I love it!). Can I solder my wires to the two terminals the copper wires are running to on the 6x9 speakers? If so, how can I tell which terminal is positive + and which is negative -?

Will ultimately be running my wires to the Speaker Level Inputs on my amp.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

im trying to figure out what we are looking at. look on the other side of the connector for the wires. if one is striped then chances are thats positive.

those speakers look really funny. i love those plastic baskets.

You are looking at a trunk view of the stock 6x9s. 7Th Generation Camry is notoriously difficult to find color coded wires for polarity via the rear deck. Was looking for confirmation; however, I guess I will just solder my wires to the terminals, and run them to the speaker level inputs on the amp. Could be wrong, but don't believe it matters which is + or - since they will be going to the amp input.

Thanks for the help.

Disconnect the factory wires from the speaker. Use a 9v battery and apply + to one side of the speaker and - to the other. When you have the cone move forward upon applying power you have the + and - correct.

Most often, but not always, when looking at the magnet and the speaker connections at the bottom, the right one is + and the left -
