first time snowboarding... any tips?
If you had been out here, I would first have said, find a skihill with snow on it. Ours has been closed since the first week of January for lack of snow. See how those aches and pains are later in the day.
Actually I'm still feeling pretty good.
My knee is a bit bruised and sore, but I was still in good enough shape to go out and play my weekly game of ball hockey.

my best snowboarding tip....
if your tubby...don't bother. you have to be able to get up with both feet planted. when i first tired it i had a prize winner beer gut and everytime i fell i couldn't do the crunches to get back up on my feet.

Hehe... you weren't doing it the right way then..
I'm a pretty big guy (6' tall and like 225lbs) and I was able to get up with no problems.
No crunches were involved. Just roll over on to your stomach (board towards the bottom of the hill) and use the incline of the hill and the edge of the board to help you up. No problems
