Good Boots???
I checked out a place at lunch...They have a pair of Cats on clearence for $155..now,they are a tiny bit big,but with an insole they are almost perfect fit...but the insoles are like $20 which brings up the price to pretty well whatMarks wants for a pair of Cats...
Your thoughts?Go for the deal?or keep shopping?

I"ve been wearing HWC boots for the last few years, I've tried a number of other brands, but the HWCs tend to be the most comfortable, and now that they've got the reinforced toe, they're lasting a lot longer than even my last pair, that did me for 3 years. I work construction and industrial service, so boots tend to get abused with grinding sparks, welding sparks, very rough abraision (broke my foot just above the steel last year) and they're still ticking. I can't however find laces that last more than 3 months.
I have a pair of Timberland 'PRO' work boots that I got from MWW about a year ago.
they qwere like 175 bucks.
They are extemely comfortable, and also didnt get ripped to shreds like most bootas I have used have.
I work(ed) in a shipping/rec'ing warehouse, and boots tend to get ripped/scraped/shredded from daily run-ins with skids and the edges of pallet trucks, etc....
The Tims have surcvived and if I ever cleaned them tehy could even pass as 'normal' timberlands.
GREAT boot.
Though I am not sure if Mark's carries them any longer.

2 pairs for 60 bucks?? i paid 140 dollars for my low rise dakota's.. i love em.. compisite toe, some kinda rubber **** on the toe as well.. they hold up very well... im on 3 months and where regular boots would be destroyed( i werk in a very harsh shop lol) these are only half distroyed... best 140 bucks spent.

I am curreently wearing Cats and I won't be buying another pair. Paid $200 for them and they fell apart like a Chinese motorcycle. They were uncomfortable at first, but once they were worn in, they are awesome. Poor quality though. Insides have ripped apart, the sole has seperated and cracked... all while surveying, a real fairy profession as far as work boots go.

I asked some people elsewhere from here as well as at few differnt places that handle Cats, and they all remarked they head a fairly high return rate on them for some reason, but they had next to no returns on the dakota's...
So now just to get used to em and break em in and hopefully get a minimum of a year out of them...
Thanks for all the input people...Muchly Muchly appreciated..
