and u are expecting a package, either chain your F'in dog up away from your door, or keep him in the damn house!
i had a 90+lb rottie come at me while doin a delivery yesterday morning. i was halfway between the door, and the gate when it came flying around the house right at me barkin and showin teeth.... [img]graemlins/jawdrop.gif[/img]
i started backpeddlin REAL fast. when it got within 6' i threw the package i had in my left hand at the dogs face, that stopped it for half a second... giving me just enuff time to get my a$$ out the gate.
as i was closing the gate, the dog lunged at it breaking it off the top hinge.....
thank god im a full grown adult, and not a 12yo paperboy/girl. or else someone woulda been seriously hurt....
i woulda felt really bad if the dog had gotten a hold of me tho.... cus first would have been the shot to the head with my DIAD, then i woulda been reaching for my work knife....
honestly people, is it really worth it to A) have your dog destroyed cus u didnt train, or chain it, and B) have charges and a lawsuit filed against u cus u couldnt be bothered to be a responsible dog owner?
like how would u tell your kids that their dog is dead because it went after the guy who was just trying to deliver a sweater or something??
ok that concludes my venting.....
ive already contacted the SPCA and suggested they go have a chat with the owner....

from dealing with a dog attack one of our i find that the SPCA and the cops just try and make the situation go away
they try and tell you oh it won't happen again and you'll be ok in the morning
just bull sheit
honestly my ups delivery dude had his gonans crunched by a german shepard
he sued and guess what he got
nothing and the dogs still walking
you also have to prove the dog did this and you being on private property have no rights the dog is allowed to attack if your there

actually, drivin a big brown truck and carrying a persons package they aggreed to have shipped UPS does give me the legal right to be there
we i know other drivers who have had dogs sicked on em while doin deliveries... the dog was beaten to death by the driver, who then went after the owner....
we have had other drivers biten and the dogs been put down, once an owner was actually jailed
luckily i got out, like i said if i was a kid, it would have been all over, and it if had gotten me i would have killed it.
i do kinda hope the dog went to town on the persons package tho... id love them to file a complaint

actually this was up in silversprings of all places... ive heard a few stories of dogs in dover tho...
oh its funny now cus im ok... i did what any proud man would do when seeing the unmistakeable colors of a rottie, i screamed like a girl and bolted for the exit lol....
but i just keep thinkin what could have happened if i didnt react as fast, and in the manor that i did.
