My dog is great anyone comes to the door he barks his head off till someone opens the door then he is friendly as can be I think not knoing who is on the other side of the door pisses him off.
He is a german sheppard and is as friendly as can be but if someon comes over for the first time I always shove him outside to till I know the person is ok with dogs then I let him come back in.

I have to deal with peoples properties whether there home or not. I have a work order to be there so I have the right. I've had to deal with some pretty vicious animals. One guy had a sign with a dog saying "I can make it to the fence in 3 seconds, can you?" 2 pitbulls and a big *** curly haired dog, come charging towrds me, I ran my *** back to my truck as fast as I can. Rule of thumb, if I think theres a dog or one comes up to the truck, give him a treat through the window, if he's mean, honk for the owner to come out. If there not home, take off. I'm smashed, so I hope this makes some sense, thanks you.

Dog's Generally do not bother me.. but while working.. i've had a dog try to bite my hand before.. owners were there saying he's fine etc.. lucky he didnt try to bite hard.. and i had gloves on at the time.. but if any dog bite's attacks me.. he will be beaten with whatever i Have..

To me.. its not the dog's fault.. its the owner's if he's not good with strangers.. but him away.. dont make me deal with him

I got attacked by a 70 pound rottie back in my paper route days.. the owner was standing in their driveway and they let their dog free on the lawn while they were working in the garden.. i went to give them their paper, and the dog came, and rammed me to the ground.. then it got a hold of my leg.. luckily the owner came and got it off of me before it broke my skin.. but that dog sure made quick work of that pair of pants..

Did you tell your boss or manager at work about it? And I would have charges laid or something cause what is to stop that from happening like you said to a 12 year old boy? My dad is a mail man dude he gets that stuff all the time and if they report it they either dont deliver mailt here until the problem is dealt with or charges are laid. I got told several times just face the dog it'll back off cause it doesnt like feeling threatend, but yeah ok let the thing jump at your neck if it is a psycho that doesnt stop?? lol Mail Carriers are given pepper spray, awhile back they tried those high pitched sound devices I think they lasted a month and then they went back to Pepper Spray lol But yah I would try and have something done about it, he had a dog jump right through a screen door once at him big huge great dane and chase him a bit. You gotta be and feel safe where you work man, and if you dont do somethin it might be to late later you know?

Never saw that dog again after the SPCA was done with the situation.
Yah when I used to deliver newspapers I put them in the mailbox at houses where they had big dogs, they insisted the dogs were friendly n I was like F U they are I know they aren't. Dogs seem to be in a differnet mind state when they're chained up Place my uncle used to live at it was a basement appartment of this big huge Italian style house. And u went in the back. They had a big huge Great Dane/Sheppard mix dog that was alwayz chained up as a guard dog and they were like nicest dog yeah no problem he likes to bark a lot right? If you walk around wide enough he cant get u. Mom walked by when I was behind her and the dog grabbed her wrist in itz mouth then let go. Scared the crap outta her, they alwayz tried to send me out to get stuff from the car and there was no way I would go alone lol But I was upstairs in their house (owners) once with the dog when it wasn't chained up and it was the biggest suck. But when its outside chained up its mean as heck

Don't back peddle from a dog. it can sense your fear. If a dog is charging at you barking and showing teeth just kick it right in the mouth. I don't care how big or mean the dog is it will wimper and yelp and then run away. it will then fear and respect you. If you show fear to animals then you will be in trouble.
